Crystal Springs Foundation Celebrates 20 Years of Environmental Conservation and Education

(ZEPHRYHILLS, Fla.) — Crystal Springs Preserve marks two decades of environmental stewardship this month with a series of special events commemorating its founding as a public conservation area and education center.

The 525-acre sanctuary, home to one of Florida's largest first-magnitude springs, will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Since opening in 2005, the preserve has expanded its mission to include research partnerships with three state universities, habitat restoration projects, and award-winning educational programs.

Ashley Thomas, president of The Crystal Springs Foundation, reflected on the preserve's evolution: "What began as an effort to protect a single spring has grown into a comprehensive environmental center that addresses the interconnected challenges facing Florida's water systems."
